Where to find books during Black History Month or anytime
If you want to dig into a novel or some nonfiction literature, the following book lists can help you find the perfect fit.
- Check out these incredible books by Black authors, according to Black bookstore owners.
- Born in Slavery: Slave Narratives from the Federal Writers' Project, 1936-1938 contains more than 2,300 first-person accounts of slavery and 500 black-and-white photographs of former slaves. This online collection is a joint presentation of the Manuscript and Prints and Photographs divisions of the Library of Congress.
- New York Public Library's Black History Month reading lists: for adults, for teens, and for kids

Where to find movies, documentaries, shows, art exhibits and cultural events during Black History Month or anytime
If you want to stream documentaries, films or TV programs related to the AAPI experience, here are some ways you can do it at home.
- "Blue" presented by Seattle Opera Foundation -The 2020 winner for Best New Opera, Blue, a portrait of contemporary African American life: of love and loss, church, sisterhood, and most importantly, family.
- Watch Use of Force: The Policing of Black America on Peacock (free for Xfinity customers).
- Netflix subscribers have access to their Black History is American History Month collection.
- Visit YouTube's Black Voices channel to explore a wide array of content.
- Visit Seattle is proud to support the efforts of partners who are joining their voices in the chorus to honor Black History Month. CLICK HERE for just a few of the ways our city is celebrating throughout the month of February.
