The summit focuses on how we deconstruct the narrative with those in poverty and move towards disrupting the systems that create barriers for those in poverty. We ask; What is our role in disrupting the status quo? How do we leverage our individual and collective appetite for leaning into being “comfortable with being uncomfortable” in our work to disrupt poverty? Lastly, how do we build a more just and equitable community that is resilient as a result?

United Ways of the Pacific Northwest
United Ways of the Pacific Northwest partners with UWPC as part of the Community Reinvestment Project to strengthen underserved communities by expanding access to essential resources and services. First Five Fundamentals
UWPC is a partner in the PCECN, a collaborative initiative to improve the wellbeing of children, families and communities in Pierce County. UWPC operates the coordinated access point of our network, providing resource navigation and access for families. Under the leadership of First 5 Fundamentals, partners include Tacoma Pierce County Health Department, NW Pediatrics, Child Care Aware, Within Reach, Pave, Amara, and HopeSparks.
Siemer Institute
Siemer Institute - The Siemer Institute supports UWPC’s 2Gen (Two-Generation) work in partnership with Tacoma Housing Authority by investing in innovative, family-centered strategies that address the needs of both parents and children simultaneously. Through its focus on education, economic security, and family well-being, the Siemer Institute helps create opportunities for families to break the cycle of poverty. By supporting the project at Tacoma Housing Authority, UWPC is helping to empower parents and provide children with the resources they need to thrive, and the Siemer Institute supports this work by fostering long-term positive outcomes for families, strengthening communities and building a better future for the next generation. LISC
The Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) supports UWPC’s Center for Strong Families (CSF) network by providing critical resources, technical assistance, and funding to strengthen local partnerships. LISC’s commitment to empowering families through holistic services aligns with the CSF network's focus on comprehensive support, which includes education, workforce development, financial literacy, and health services. Workforce Central
The collaboration between WorkForce Central (WFC) and UWPC is designed to better equip individuals for sustainable success by addressing both their career and financial needs. WFC works with 211’s Workforce Navigator to help connect people to the skills and training necessary to secure stable employment, while a United Way financial coach is embedded at WFC’s One-Stop site offering personalized guidance to help individuals manage their finances, build savings, and plan for long-term stability. Together, these services create a holistic support system that empowers individuals to achieve economic independence and lasting success.
Ride United
UWPC partners with United Way Worldwide and Lyft to operate a transportation program filling the gaps for on demand rides by dispatching free Lyft rides for residents.
Pierce County Early Childhood Network

Pierce County Coordinated Transportation Coalition
UWPC is a member of the PCCTC working in collaboration to remove transportation barriers for residents. The goal is to create a coordinated transportation system where anyone who needs a ride can get a ride. UWPC operates a transportation resource center that is the central intake point for special needs transportation. In partnership with Pierce County Human Services, Pierce Transit, Catholic Community Services, The Mustard Seed, Puget Sound Educational Service District, Around the Sound, and community members. Pierce County Workforce Partnership
UWPC is a member of The Pierce County Workforce Partnership, consisting of the Pierce County Workforce Development Council (WDC), WorkForce Central, WorkSource Pierce One-Stop Center, Goodwill of the Olympics and Rainier Region and Joint Base Lewis McChord, Pierce County Library System, Tacoma Rescue Mission, Palmer Scholars, Korean Women’s Association, Clover Park Technical College, Tacoma Community College, Bates Technical College, Pierce College, and Tacoma Community House, working to provide effective, accessible, and high-quality workforce development services in Pierce County.
