Tanisha Jumper is the Director of Media and Communications for the City of Tacoma which includes oversight of TV Tacoma.  In addition to this appointment, Tanisha serves as the manager of Tacoma 2025, the City wide strategic plan and vision. She is responsible for the implementation plan, working with community partners and residents, while monitoring the progress towards realizing the vision established by the community. 

Tanisha holds a Bachelor’s degree in political science from Wilberforce University in Wilberforce, OH. Before joining the City of Tacoma, she most recently served as the Senior Vice President, Community Impact for United Way of the Greater Dayton Area for 7 years. In that role, Tanisha led United Way’s efforts to provide quality health and human service programs, develop collaborations, strategies, and initiatives that served Montgomery, Greene and Preble Counties in OH. In addition to her experience with the United Way, Tanisha has a wealth of experience in health and human service management, having served as a case manager and supervisor at Miami Valley Child Development Centers, a Vice President at Unified Health Solutions, and Housing Commissioner for Greater Dayton Premier Management, the local housing authority. 

Tanisha is currently the President of the local chapter of National Forum of Black Public Administrators, a mentor for Palmer Scholars and mother to three amazing children.
