United Way of Pierce County proudly announces the addition of exceptional individuals to its Board of Directors. These leaders bring fresh perspectives and diverse expertise to the organization’s mission of improving conditions for families and children and breaking the cycle of poverty in Pierce County.
Dona Ponepinto, President and CEO of United Way of Pierce County, shared her enthusiasm for the new appointments:

The Board of Directors will be led by Nathe Lawver, representing the Pierce County Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO, as Board Chair. Joining Nathe in leadership roles are:

United Way of Pierce County is also thrilled to welcome four new members to the Board of Directors:
Yelda Bryant
Yelda Bryant, a Business Banker with Bank of America, brings over a decade of experience serving businesses and individuals in Pierce County. Coming from a military family, Yelda understands the challenges families face and is passionate about fostering financial stability and freedom in her community. A committed volunteer, she has supported organizations like the Emergency Food Network and Lighthouse for the Blind, working to provide resources to underserved populations.
AJ Gordon
AJ Gordon, Vice President and Shareholder at Northwest Bank, is a seasoned leader in commercial and investment banking. He actively serves on the boards of the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce and the Tacoma-Pierce County Business Alliance PAC, and he is an Honorary Commander at McChord Air Force Base. A South Sound native, AJ’s deep community ties and leadership experience make him a strong advocate for United Way’s mission.
Jacqueline Justice
Jacqueline Justice is a Tacoma native and attorney with a passion for community building. She serves on the boards of Goodwill of the Olympics and Rainier Region and the Tacoma Art Museum. With extensive legal experience, including over a decade in child welfare law, Jacqueline brings a wealth of knowledge and a strong commitment to improving lives in Pierce County.
Amanda Westbrooke
Amanda Westbrooke, a longtime host of Tacoma’s CityLine television program, is a dedicated advocate for progress and community. With a career spanning roles in education, strategic planning, and human resources, Amanda combines her storytelling expertise and leadership skills to foster unity and positive change. Her passion for connection and inclusion aligns deeply with United Way’s mission.
