United Way of Pierce County believes youth are
a vital part of community solutions. You are critical to a
healthy community, both now and in the future. If you are
not engaged in our community, what will the future hold for
our society?
Youth United offers young people the opportunity to discover and develop skills, to apply their academic knowledge through service learning activities and to receive recognition for their volunteer efforts. It is a way for young people to help others, have fun and learn something new.
Participate in Youth
United:
Why should
you participate?
Appeal to perspective colleges
and employers by distinguishing yourself from other students.
Have fun with your friends by doing something different and
meaningful.
Develop leadership skills by helping others learn about volunteering.
Earn hours toward a distinguished Varisty Letter in Community , similar to those earned by athletes
and musicians.
Contribute to the solution of a more giving, acceptable, and
successful community.
Become a Member of the Youth Leadership
Council.
Want to meet youth from throughout
the county and take a leadership role in your community? Youth
Leadership Council members develop goals for Youth United,
organize and implement service projects and participate in other volunteer activities like Youth Day of
Caring and monthly service projects. Youth Leadership Council has also held benefit
concerts to raise awareness and is always looking to make a difference in the community.
