At United Way of Pierce County, our mission is to make measurable improvements in the lives of people in our community. Since 1921, we have been protecting a safety net of services to help create solutions to the most critical needs in our area. In 2004, United Way of Pierce County launched an effort to focus on three of the most pressing needs in Pierce County as identified by the community - housing availability, child and youth development, and access to healthcare. We are now working with partners in our community to solve these problems while protecting the safety net of services.
In addition, we continue to work year round to maximize donor gifts with community solutions. With a variety of programs throughout the year, we make it easier for organization and people to connect with their community through gifts of time, talent, money and products. We work with other United Way organizations regionally and nationally, to ensure that volunteers and donors have a seamless experience connecting to their communities no matter where they live or work.
